Throughout October, the spotlight is on the Caribbean Choice Awards, celebrating this year’s standout images from the Seas & Scenes: Love the Caribbean Photo Contest 2025. Each week, new winners are being revealed across EPIC’s photo contest winners page and social media – one story, one image, and one perspective at a time. Beginning on November 1, the excitement builds as we start announcing the nine Grand Prize winners.
The Caribbean Choice Awards honor photographs that capture the heart of life in the region. These images hold the people, wildlife, and coasts of the region in clear view, and they do it with craft. Each image carries a piece of the Caribbean’s identity: a view that’s both beautiful and real. From a single, tiny seagrape plant growing in front of a glowing city skyline to a sloth stealing the camera to take a selfie, the winning photos show how connection, resilience, and community define this region.
Every announcement features the photographer, the title and location of their work, and a short note from the artist or judge explaining why the image stood out. It’s a reminder that good photography doesn’t just capture a moment, it tells a story worth sharing. The awards highlight a range of perspectives, from experienced professionals to first-time entrants, all united by their love for the Caribbean.
Here are this year’s 16 Caribbean Choice Award categories: EPIC Advocacy Award, Celebrating Seabirds: EPIC Co-Founders Award, Journey Through the Islands Award, Caribbean Compass Magazine: Cover Worthy Award, Coolest Caribbean Critter Award, Stories of the Islands Award, Wave Keeper Award, Nautical Perspective Award, Adventure Award, Sea & Wind Award, Ocean Guardian Award, The Heart of the Caribbean Award, Guardians of Nature Award, Coastal Generations Award, Hope for Change Award, and Best Snapshot Award. Together, they recognize advocacy, wildlife, life on the coast, community, and those single perfect frames that say more than a paragraph ever could.
The contest began as a way to bring together voices from islands and coasts across the region, building a shared space for environmental storytelling. The Caribbean Choice Awards carry that forward by focusing attention on local stories of resilience, sustainability, and belonging. These are not postcards. They are invitations to see what makes the Caribbean worth protecting, and why everyday stewardship matters.
Whether you’ve followed the contest from the start or are just discovering it now, October is the perfect time to catch up on the winners. Each week reveals something new: another island, another story, another glimpse of how art and conservation meet.
Stay tuned for the Grand Prize announcements beginning November 1, and celebrate the photographers whose work captures the spirit of the Caribbean—one image at a time.
