The Caribbean Waterbird Census is a regional waterbird and wetland monitoring program led by BirdsCaribbean that involves many partners, including EPIC. The information gathered by volunteers and staff from diverse organizations helps the scientific community to better understand the distribution, status, and abundance of waterbirds in the Caribbean. This information is needed to manage and conserve the birds and their habitats and helps guide decision-making.
The region-wide count takes place during January 14th to February 3rd each year.
