EPIC was a co-partner for a regional Climate Justice Camp on Sint Maarten, March 28-31, 2024, held for young Caribbean volunteers, advocates, and community leaders who are actively involved in addressing gender, social, and/or climate issues. The Climate Justice Camp: Caribbean Edition brought together people from the region to take part in four days of workshops and events to build knowledge, strategies, capacity, community, and networks. The camp was a space for participants to exchange ideas, stories, and experiences to further work for climate justice in the Caribbean region and beyond. Community leaders, or those in a movement, or are advocating, working, or volunteering on climate or social justice issues affecting the Caribbean, were encouraged to apply.
Camp Goals:
To build a strong network of movement leaders and advocates across the Caribbean.
To strengthen and increase demonstrations of solidarity and cross-border collaboration.
Provide opportunities for the design of joint strategies, tactics, and messaging to galvanize action unique to the Caribbean.
Increase knowledge sharing and capacity building on public awareness and organising on key environmental and social issues through a wide range of trainings and workshops.
