This summer, EPIC is excited to welcome two exceptional interns who are bringing their passion, skills, and dedication to our mission of environmental conservation in the Caribbean.

Reese is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Exploration Science at the University of Miami, with a focus on ocean conservation and exploration. With a background in anthropology and media production, Reese blends scientific knowledge with creative communication skills. At EPIC, Reese is managing social media, creating engaging content, and expanding outreach efforts in the Caribbean. “I’m thrilled to contribute to EPIC’s mission and to work on projects that have a real impact on environmental conservation,” said Reese. Outside of work, Reese enjoys relaxing on the beach and diving into new adventures.

EPIC’s internship program is designed to offer students and young professionals hands-on experience in environmental conservation. Interns gain practical skills and knowledge while contributing to significant projects that align with our mission to protect and preserve the Caribbean’s unique ecosystems.

Sam is a graduate student specializing in Tropical Marine Ecosystem Management at the University of Miami. As a water quality intern, Sam focuses on researching the historical trajectory of water quality in the US Virgin Islands. This involves comprehensive data collection and literary analysis aimed at understanding and improving freshwater quality across the region. “The opportunity to work with EPIC allows me to apply my academic knowledge to real-world challenges and contribute to meaningful conservation efforts,” said Sam. When not immersed in her studies and research, Sam enjoys spending time at the beach, paddleboarding, and exploring nature trails.

Our interns are integral to EPIC’s ongoing projects. Reese’s role involves crafting compelling narratives and interactive social media campaigns to raise awareness about our conservation projects. Sam’s research provides valuable insights into water quality issues, helping shape our strategies for sustainable practices.

We are proud to have Reese and Sam on our team and excited to see the impact of their work. Their dedication and innovative approaches are already making a difference, and we look forward to sharing more updates on their progress throughout the summer.
