EPIC has placed third in the 2024 Community Corporate Challenge (Cx3), earning recognition for its outstanding volunteer engagement and commitment to environmental conservation. Partnering with Grant Thornton, EPIC also took home the Highest Volunteer Engagement Award and was named Game Day Champion, standing out among corporate and nonprofit teams competing to make a community impact.

The Cx3 Challenge, an annual competition promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR), brings together businesses and nonprofits to fundraise, mobilize volunteers, and implement meaningful community projects. This year’s event saw over 700 volunteers engaged, 2,000 social media interactions, and NAf. 25,837 raised for local causes.

EPIC’s success in the challenge reinforces its mission to empower communities to take action in protecting the Caribbean’s fragile ecosystems. By securing the Highest Volunteer Engagement Award, EPIC demonstrated its ability to rally support for conservation efforts, a key component of its work across the region.

The Cx3 Challenge tested teams on their ability to strategize, engage, and create lasting community impact, culminating in an interactive Game Day event where EPIC and Grant Thornton secured the Game Day Champion title. “The best part was seeing how much work goes into nonprofits and knowing we contributed beyond just financial support,” said one participant.

The competition also fostered long-term partnerships, with EPIC and other participants forming new collaborations to continue conservation efforts beyond the challenge. With Cx3 moving to a biennial format, EPIC remains committed to leveraging its growing network to expand conservation initiatives and mobilize even more volunteers in the coming years.

As EPIC continues its work in the Caribbean, its success at Cx3 is a testament to the power of community-driven conservation. For more on EPIC’s ongoing efforts and ways to get involved, visit www.epicislands.org.
