Iguana and sheep | By - Debra Augustine
Photo Location: Belmont, Carriacou, Grenada
Photo Description: It had always been my husband’s dream to return to live in Carriacou, and in February 2024 we made it happen. One morning in May, I heard him calling me from the porch to say there was an iguana on the big rock by the house (he knew I was fascinated by the wildlife in my new home). As I went on to the porch with my phone and zoomed in, a group of sheep grazing by the rock also got closer. This photo was taken just as one sheep passed in front of the rock where the iguana was sunbathing. It.s now a reminder of a time (just) before hurricane Beryl and the devastation it wrought.
