Photo Description: The waterfront property of our humble field research station, Keys Marine Lab, attracts many fauna, from sharks and manatees, to birds and iguanas. Pelicans are among our most welcome and frequent visitors (when they are not diving into the water or stalking a fishermen's catch) as they rest on the rocks between fishing trips. As the sun gets low in the sky, a determined photographer might just be able to sneak close enough to these ever-watchful beauties and capture their casual, almost elegant, magnetism.
