Nature's Masterpiece | By - Peter Rivera

Photo Location: Ceiba, Puerto Rico

Photo Description: In Puerto Rico, flamingos are rare visitors, usually from other Caribbean islands. In recent decades, only one flamingo had been seen, stranded for several years in Camuy, nicknamed "Pinky." A few months ago, another flamingo was also observed for a few weeks in the Cabo Rojo area, nicknamed "Sunrise." However, a few years ago, several flamingos arrived at a nature reserve in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, and have since stayed there. On this last visit, where I took this photograph, I was able to record eight flamingos. After three years of visiting the area, I was finally able to photograph them up close, as they are always stranded far away, and can only be observed with binoculars. But on this last trip, I was fortunate enough to see them just a few meters away, something that surprised me, and that's why I'm sharing this photo.
