Confluence of Motion: Ferry Horizon Meets Highway Pulse | By - Krystle Maharaj
Photo Location: From Nicholas Tower, Port of Spain, Trinidad
Photo Description: Captured from my workplace vantage point, this photograph frames the Port of Spain ferry terminal alongside the sweeping arteries of the Beetham and Audrey Jeffers highways. Set against the backdrop of the Gulf of Paria, the shot emphasizes the quiet power of human movement boats and vehicles alike crisscrossing through an environment shaped by both natural beauty and urban development. Taken not for dramatic effect, but for reflection, the image holds personal significance: it’s where my everyday world unfolds. The bridge between the serene bay and the bustling roads symbolizes the delicate yet dynamic balance Trinidad strives to maintain between progress and preservation. This reminds me of how our urban existence intersects with the natural world, and how even in the hum of concrete and traffic, there lies a quiet beauty that shapes our collective journey
