Garden Muse: Cornbird in Focus | By - Krystle Maharaj
Photo Location: San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago
Photo Description: Every morning commences with a cherished ritual: I place ripe fruit and slices of wholewheat bread out the kitchen window to welcome the Cornbird (Crested Oropendola, Psarocolius decumanus). Today, as sunlight spilled into the room, a Cornbird, its yellow tail gleaming and blue eyes alert, perched just within reach. The quiet invitation of that vibrant plumage drew me to grab my camera. This image captures more than a bird in flight, it reflects the beautiful interplay of daily devotion and wild wonder, reminding me that connection to nature can bloom simply through the act of sharing and how a seemingly mundane routine can transform into reverence.
