Power and Play in the Caribbean Rainforest | By - Josiah Samuel
Photo Location: La Soufriere Trail, St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Photo Description: On Emancipation Day, I joined some friends for my first hike up the La Soufriere volcano. I was very eager to capture the trails beauty so i walked ahead of the group, challenging my fitness as I climbed. I took photos of anything that caught my eye. After an hour of walking, i reached the halfway point. Suddenly I heard loud, pounding footsteps in front me and realized that someone was running down the trail. I stepped aside to let them pass but instead of running by, two massively built men stopped right in front of me. To my surprise, one of them struck a pose, flexed his muscles and smiled for a photo. I quickly composed the shot, making sure they were in focus and took the photo. As they jogged away the man in the hat said "This picture going make you 1 million dollars one day!" Maybe it was a joke but in that moment it felt like I had found the perfect shot i was looking for all along.
